Set Goals. Take Action.

After you create your vision board, you will then commit to your top 3 goals for the year:

  1. Break down your goals into 30 day segments. What do you need to do this month in order to reach your goal by the end of the year? I recommend choosing one major goal (or part of your goal) to work on each month and some smaller sub-goals. Having a primary focus each month doesn’t mean ignoring every other part of your life. It means that you set your most ambitious energy, task list & resources towards this one goal over the next 30 days.
  2. Commit to working on your goals a minimum of 30 minutes a day. Everyday, review the goals you set for yourself and mentally commit to the plan of action for how you are going to make it happen. Then take daily action – it doesn’t matter how small an action you take or if you take the wrong step forward. The important piece is doing something DAILY to work towards your goal. If your goal is to write a book, you need to make time in your daily schedule to write for at least 30 minutes a day during the work week and longer chunks of time on the weekend. If your goal is to get healthy this year your monthly goals may be (one at a time) – starting to incorporate some light exercising into your day (your daily action step would then be walking everyday during your lunch break) or your goal may be to swap out soda for water over the next 30 days (your daily action step would be to fill up your big jug of water and drink it throughout the day). Next month your goal along the lines of getting healthy may be to increase the # of days exercising per week or to do a Whole30 healthy eating challenge.
  3. On Sundays, plan out your week ahead with daily action steps, life & work to do lists, workout plans & healthy meal planning.
