How is it already the fourth quarter of the year?! As we head into the final stretch of the year, I’ve been taking a little time to check in on my own goals, see what’s working, and figure out where I want to focus my energy for the rest of the year. See a flip thru of my planner below.
Let’s be honest - life happens. Some goals move along exactly as planned, while others get pushed to the back burner when life gets busy. And that’s okay - it happens to all of us. The beauty of goal setting isn’t about getting everything perfect. It’s about being intentional, making adjustments, and continuing to show up for yourself.
Here are a few tips for your Q4 goal check-in:
1. Celebrate how far you’ve come. Before making a list of everything you still want to accomplish, take a moment to recognize your progress. Every small win counts!
2. Revisit your priorities. Are the goals you set at the beginning of the year still important to you? Give yourself permission to change direction if your priorities have shifted.
3. Focus on what’s realistic. You have three months left in the year, and you don’t need to accomplish everything at once. Choose two or three priorities that would make the biggest difference in your life. What would move the needle?
4. Break it down. Turn those big goals into small, manageable steps. Use your Commit30 planner to map out your monthly milestones, weekly action steps, and daily habits.
5. Leave room for life. Your goals should support the life you want to live, not add more stress to it. Progress can look different in different seasons, so give yourself some grace.
As for me, I’m focusing on being intentional with my time and re-establishing my morning and evening routines; focusing on strength training; and re-visiting our spending plan after an expensive few months of travel and house remodel projects. There’s still plenty of time to make meaningful progress before December 31! So grab your planner, take a deep breath, and decide what you want these final three months to look like.
