Life has been moving fast so this edition of my current favorites is designed to help slow life down.
The best book I’ve read on the porch lately - a perfect summer lake read. (Please try to get it from your local bookshop or library instead of amazon).
I’ll admit I’ve been on a bit of a “gin & tonic on the porch” kick lately but here are some great mocktail recipes to try (and this one is a winner).
I am loving learning how to make pottery at age 49! It’s never too late to learn something new. I’ve also taken a latin dance class (lol induced moments all class) and am practicing pickleball (still not sure it's my thing and I will never be able to keep score but its a fun workout). Learning new things is always on my goal list.

If you are itching to learn something new here’s a great list of some adult hobbies to consider (most of which are free or inexpensive - the comments section is full of additional gems).
Speaking of substack I'm loving this new to me one - Feeling Magazine - all about making your day to day life filled with more whimsy & joy. She committed to turning her kitchen into a great cafe/restaurant and I'm loving all of her ideas about fun ways to host people. More community, more simple dinners with friends is one of my goals this summer. I have a fridge & freezer in the bunk room filled with sparkling waters & icecream sandwiches and beef from our local farmer and buns in the freezer to pull out anytime for last minute hosting. I can’t promise anything fancier than burgers, a salad and icecream sandwiches but the important piece is just spending time with people IRL. I’m committed to hosting people at least once a week for dinner or happy hour every week this summer. Even if the house is messy.
My new favorite jeans - I have them in 3 colors (light wash, dark wash and black). I’m 5’3 but went with a regular (not petite) size 6. Some colors on sale for $29!
So excited about our upcoming 2026 Planner Launch - love the daily reminder to chase your dreams! Stay tuned for more info.
ps - If you have kids, I highly recommend a slip and slide in your yard this summer. Such fun for all ages.
Wishing you all a happy & safe summer filled with whimsy and joy.
