Watching: Home Reimagined / Magnolia Network/HBO; Shrinking Season 3 / Apple TV; The Pitt Season 2/ HBO; Landman Season 2/Paramount+.
Reading: Re-reading 1984 by George Orwell - read it in high school but it's pretty darn relevant today - worth a re-read and The Correspondent (beautiful). And loved this article with midlife musings.
Buying: Nothing - but I am doing a monthly clothing rental service. I love that I can refresh my wardrobe with a few items a month and then return them when I’m done. They ship in reusable, sustainable packing to boot. I feel like this will help me commit to a low buy year. Here’s a link for $30 off your first month (pause or cancel anytime)
We are committed to a low buy year to save up for some travel this year and early retirement! I did need a new bathing suit bottom because my other one that I wear frequently the elastic was dying on and I don’t need to expose anyone - lol. Bought a brand new one on poshmark for $9. So that’s a score. Also committed to using up all beauty products before buying anything else. Decluttering the house and purging my closet and selling some things on Poshmark too.
Moving: My body in whatever way feels good each day - some days it's a longer hike in the woods, lots of days it’s Range via @karaduvalrange; some days it's the stairmaster and weights at the gym; some days it's swimming in the pool at the gym. Just committed to daily movement - being able to move my body is a GIFT that I won’t take for granted.
Planning: My 50th birthday trip to ITALY! This has been on the top of my bucket list for over a decade and we’ve saved to make it happen this spring! We’ll be in Florence (art & eating), Cinque Terre (hiking & eating) and a small village in Tuscany (resting, eating & drinking wine). Send me any of your Italy travel tips - especially off the main drag restaurants and must do's in Florence.
Practicing: Pottery & Italian - languages are SO hard for me to learn but trying to learn at least a few phrases and pleasantries before our trip.
Committed to: Putting my phone away each night in my little phone box. Get $15 off yours using code: JENNY15. Not sponsored, just sharing a discount. I bought 2 of these all on my own and love the visual reminder to tuck the phone away - each night, while I’m making breakfast or dinner, when I’m trying to focus on some tasks, etc. My screen time the past few months has been HIGH - my February goal is a digital detox.
